You’ll be wined and dined by the delightful diva, Tamara Foong, as you are swept away by the music of Puccini to a balmy Italian evening. Your ticket includes entry to Tamara’s fabulous abode, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), tasty nibbles to keep you going all night, and a one-of-a-kind performance by Brisbane’s emerging opera stars from Springboard Opera. Meet the Springboard Opera Performers

Sky Kim
Korean-Australian coloratura soprano Sky Kim has pursued her passion for opera, completing the Bachelor of Music Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University under the guidance of Leanne Kenneally. Sky is a soprano scholar at St Andrew’s Uniting Church and currently studies with the soprano Eva Kong and receives coachings from world-renowned pianist and vocal coach Laurent Philippe. In 2021, Sky was awarded the Donald Penman Prize for Voices in Combination.
Through her participation at the Queensland Conservatorium opera productions and Val Machin Scenes, Sky has studied and performed roles such as, but not limited to, Tytania from A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Benjamin Britten and Nursemaid 1 from Kurt Weill’s Street Scene. Notable performances outside of the conservatorium include her professional debut as a member of The Seven Sopranos, performing in the Lisa Gasteen National Opera Program in 2022, and performing at The Cuskelly College of Music Summer School.

Rebecca Cassidy
Rebecca Cassidy, hailing from Townsville, is celebrated for her exceptional soprano voice characterised by a delightful richness and agile top notes, as lauded by Limelight magazine. A graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU), she has garnered acclaim and accolades, including the prestigious Wagner Prize and the Trinity College London Exhibition Award. In May of 2024 Rebecca was the runner up in the prestigious Patricia Fagan Operatic Prize in Cowra, NSW.
With a diverse repertoire spanning major operatic roles to commanding concert performances as a featured soloist, Rebecca has left an indelible mark on the Queensland music scene. Noteworthy highlights include her engagements with Opera Queensland and Southern Cross Soloists, where her performances were met with high acclaim.
Her notable appearances as a soloist with esteemed ensembles such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Youth Orchestra, and Queensland Music Festival’s Opera at Jimbour with EnsembleQ further attest to her musical versatility and passion.
In 2023, Rebecca made a memorable national television debut as a headline performer for the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols, captivating audiences with her spellbinding performance.

Kevin Gomez
Kevin has had a successful career as a music teacher, voice teacher, arranger, editor, conductor and singer. While finishing his conducting degree from the University of the Philippines, Kevin was regularly performing with the Ateneo Chamber Singers, the Villancico Vocal Ensemble and was music director of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Quezon City. Apart from singing and teaching, he also does editorial music services.
After two years of private vocal lessons with Mr. Christopher Arceo, he applied for the Queensland Conservatorium and was accepted into the Master of Music Studies Program where he studies Opera Performance with Margaret Schindler. Shortly after arriving in Brisbane, Kevin won several first prizes at the Queensland Vocal Competition and Festival held in May 2023. Notable roles include Count Almaviva (Il Barbieri di Seviglia, scenes), Sam (Susannah, scenes), Fenton (Falstaff, scenes) and Heurtebise (Orpheé, Scenes). He is set to play Canio from Leoncavallo’s Pagliacchi in the Val Machin Opera Scenes 2024.
